SA launches national WHS expert sourcing tool

Email :128

SafeWork SA has launched an interactive website to make it easier for businesses to access specialist support to make their workplaces safe. The initiative aims to streamline the process of identifying and contacting certified WHS professionals.

The ‘Sourcing and engaging WHS professionals’ webpage explains the roles of different WHS professionals, including ergonomists, occupational hygienists and generalists, and links to local, qualified and certified experts.

The webpage is a collaboration between SafeWork SA and national peak bodies the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (AIHS), the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA).

While the webpage is located on the SafeWork SA website, the information and contacts are national. SafeWork SA Executive Director Glenn Farrell said the user-friendly resource aims to make it easier for businesses to identify and contact certified professionals who can help them tackle current and emerging WHS issues.

AIOH president Jeremy Trotman said the resources will raise awareness of the high-quality specialist advice WHS professionals can provide, particularly among small and medium-sized businesses.
